Effective Ergonomics came about because I could never find equipment what I needed for my clients.
I have worked in Occupational Rehabilitation for over 10 years and have watched the evolution of the computer based workplace in that short time.
I have seen the phonecall, fax and the inimitable "snailmail" slowly be replaced by "email" and internet communication tools such as ICQ and chat rooms.
We use a "mouse" to make way around a computer and sit in front of that computer for too many hours. Sometimes out of necessity, sometimes out of pleasure.
With this explosion of computers and the need to input information into them to do our work, our bodies don't necessarily cope with the work.
New work injuries relate to eye strain, wrist problems, backpain and shoulder problems. If you investigate where the problems originate, often there lurks a computer that has somehow impacted upon how the person works or plays!
So I developed my business. I looked on the internet and I developed relationships with innovative companies both in Australia and overseas. I try all of the products that I sell and try to keep a comprehensive range. I firmly believe that everyone has their own particular set of needs determined both by their bodies and by the work they do. What will suit Fred, won't suit Mark. I try to keep a big enough range so that everyone can find something that will suit them.
I also recommend that you look to these products, only as part of a healthy work plan. Use them in conjunction with recommendations from Doctors, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Ergonomists and so on. Don't sit at the computer for 10 hours straight. Get up, go for a walk, stretch.
I hope that the webpage is informative and helpful. Please email me with any comments or suggestions. I always appreciate feedback.
My website development skill are basic, but I'm learning and hope to provide interesting links to other sites and a comments page for everyone.
I look forward to working with you.
Kind Regards
